Going to be picking one of these little guys up shortly and just wanted to get an idea because I hadn't seen this information listed anywhere.
What is a good HS for 3D on these? I know for the rex it's around 3K, and you need to get tail reduction gears so you don't blow up the tail. Is that something that's going to be necessary on this?
What servos are you using? I've been reading that the HS-65mgs don't fit, and I'd rather not use HS-55s if that can be avoided.
Does this use the same motors as the Rex? In particular, I'm looking at the Medusa 28-32-3400
Sorry if this has been covered somewhere already, I've looked through this section of the forums and haven't found anything. Thanks for the help

I'm running mine with the stock motor and esc with the supplied 13T pinion fitted, headspeed is around the 2600 mark and seems a little slow for 3D although I'm still running the stock paddles which are a little on the heavy side. The rotor disk is something like 20mm wider which reduces disk loading below the Trex 450.
I'm using HS-65mgs on mine, as are a few friends. You do have to pare material from the inside of the servo mounts to get them to fit but its not a major job and literaly only takes a couple of minutes and I'd say its worth it.
The stock motor is 3500kv I think and gear ratios are similar so a good 450 setup will work in the Mini Titan, just don't forget you have to swing a slightly bigger rotor disk.

Ill try to get a video of the mini on 2600hs.

That should work out well then, because I was running 325s on my Rex, so going down to 315s make it about the same. Getting around 3000HS should be do-able with that set-up then.
How is the tail on this? I've yet to actually see one up close, but will it hold up to that kind of HS safely?

I tached a Mini this weekend at 2600-2700 if I recall correctly. Z-Power 3300/Flightpower combo. I have not seen this throw any parts while its being flown. It gets flown a lot doing hard 3D.

Hs 65s on the cyclic, yes you have to file the mounts down, but so what. Tail servo is Futaba 9650. The headspeed with the wood blades will be lower, than with carbons, cause the woodies are heavy, so expect something like 28-2900 with the stock motor with a set of carbons.
Im trying a medusa in my titan, along with the Thunder Power 40A esc.

I'll be running the Medusa 28-32-3400, a Jazz 40A, and the new Align 22C 2100mAH 3S pack on probably a 13T pinion. On a rex with 325s that's probably good for just over 3K, so I'd imagine running 315s on the mini I could get around 3K.
I'm going to throw the airtronics 94761 on the tail 'cause it's a little smaller and lighter.

Running mine all stock, I may have got a robust motor as this motor cranks. The climb outs are quite crazy for this stock heli. 2100 TP lipo 13 tooth pinion woodblades right on track. currently tryng the new bluebird digital servo bms-376DDG recommends heading hold gyros. Speed @4.8 is .11 at 6.V .09 21/26 torque. 65mg servos (dremeled servo brackets) The heli is weighing in at 36 grams heavier than my trexse ready to fly. Easy to repair. like to see the upgrades soon. Good luck with yours
