Is the ACE motor and ESC a good idea to buy for the 550? I was looking at the combo...kit, motor, esc for $479 and was thinking about giving it a shot. Has anyone had any experience with it? Also I want to stretch it out with a 50/Titan tail boom and 600mm blades on 6S for sport flying and maybe light 3D. Any opinions?

The ACE motor is made by Z-Power. $140 more for motor and esc is a good price if you plan to stick with 6s.

I have not played with the stock ACE set up yet, so I cant comment on flight times or performance.

I set up a 550 on a Z-50-600 and 10s for a friend. Sport flying and flips and rolls, hes getting 8-10 minutes going to 80% on the 3300 packs.

Hi there I have the TT e550 I'm bit of a novice at building just want to know if you have a ESC dont have a BEC intergrated and you fit an external one with reciever battery on with a 5.1volt reg for tail servo do you need to snip the red wire of the ESC or not?

I'm using the Ace motor and ESC and with TP 5000 packs a 7 minute flight of fairly heavy flight uses around 3800mAh, the motor is barely warm at the end, the pack is also just above ambient. The heli isn't a ball of fire but vertical performance isn't half bad.

The Ace 75A ESC is opto, there is no output to the receiver and the red wire doesn't need cutting.
