Here is a print screen from my controller setup in Phoenix using a JR XP6102.

http://www.helifreak.com/album_mod/upload/ece582267f642849e07195c98912abb0.jpg

In the 6102 here are the various settings for the model I am using for Phoenix:

[SWITCH SEL]
D/R COMM ELEV
GEAR AILE D/R
FL-M LEFT SW

[D/R & EXPO]
AILE POS 0
EXP + 35%
D/R 100%

AILE POS 1
EXP LIN
D/R 100%

ELEV POS 0
EXP + 35%
D/R 100%

ELEV POS 1
EXP LIN
D/R 100%

[THROTTLE HOLD]
POS 0
SW RIGHT

[THRO]
NORM P-LOW:0 P-1:INH P-MID:50 P-3:INH P-HIGH:100
STUNT P-LOW:100 P-1:INH P-MID:100 P-3:INH P-HIGH:100

So what does this mean?
Combine expo and dual rate on the ELEVATOR D/R switch.
Control the gear channel from the AILERON D/R switch.
Control flight mode from the left switch.

Set the aileron and elevator expo to 35% when the ELEVATOR D/R switch in position 0. Set the expos to 0% in position 1.

Use the right switch for throttle hold.

Set throttle curve in normal mode (left switch down) to 0-100 linear. Set the curve to 100-100 linear in mode 1 (left switch up).

Just how it works best for me.

only thing i would change is to drop the mid point in stunt to 50%

only an issue if you switch the governor off.

Why combine expo and dual rate when you aren't setting any dual rates? :)

I have the 100 - 50 - 100 Idle Up Th curve that Ade suggests.

I see no reason to slow down the head speed at mid stick. Why would I want my pitch and roll rate to slow down when I center the stick?

Yes, I always use governor mode with my physical and virtual aircraft. Electronics are much better at adjusting the power system than a guess at what the throttle curve should be.

Yes great info!,

thanks to this thread I realised i can use my (very)old 6 Ch FF6 in heli-mode.
Must have been one of the first computer helimixing programs :)
Also attached it to a adapter permanently, so no battery needed..
works great!
