I have a swift 16 w/ 600+ motor, but I have a question about the 80/100ESC. On my trex I do not run a rx pack. But on my swift I planed on running a 4.8 volt pack. Does anything special have to be done to the ESC to run the separate rx pack instead of using the main lypo to power the rx and servos or can you just plug the ESC and flight pack in and all will be OK???? :don't know I did download the manuel from century for the speed control but it made no mention of anything issues or what to due. I have never run a speed control this large before only about 35 amps so I just don't want to damage anything before I get a chance to fly the swift. Thanks for any knowledge you share.

The electron 80/100 does not have a built in BEC, so you dont have to do anything, except get an external BEC. I emailed century the same Q when i bought mine and they never replied, i also asked what would happen at low voltage. My align pulses the motor on my 450 to alert me to low voltage. I still dont know the answer to this one, so i play safe & time my flights.

The Electron will safety cut off at 2.9V per cell. It will the shut down. You will however see a dramatic head speed loss before this.
I always use a timer and watch how many amps goes back in the pack. Once im happy with a suitable time, i dock 10 seconds off the timer. this will keep the pack alive and well for hundrads of cycles.
Theres no BEC and you dont need to detach the red wire.
I would recomend a small lipo and regulator, i have a Flight power 1500mA pack and it lasts about 7-8 flights.
Sorry you didnt get a reply from Century but its very hard for our sales team to reply to the 1000's of emails every day. If you need an answer call in.
