Hi all,

I'm still getting very hot lipos after a flight. I have tried all the obvious things. Don't know what else it could be.

My setup is:

X400 with eCCPM conversion & alum head
ARK 2850kv motor
1800mAH 11.1v 15C battery

Belt tension is good and main gear mesh is not too tight.

Each time I charge my packs after a 7 minute flight I am putting back on average 1200 - 1300 mAH, which is well below 80% of the capacity.

What else could make the lipos so hot that they almost cannot be handled?

Bad motor or ESC
Wrong gearing
Pinion slipping
belt binding or locked up auto hub

Is the pack soft after a flight when you squeeze it a little? Do you have a 1010/210V or know someone who can diagnose the individual cells in the pack after a flight for you. If you get them super hot consistently, the pack will probably not last very long.

Also wrong timing on the ESC for the motor.

My first thought is an underperforming battery pack.

on a mini heli i have found anything under 2100mah/16c is marginal.
