I posted this in the noob section but thought I might get more feedback here....Help!!!

First post, thanks in advance for any help.... Been flying cppro for a month and have repaired just about everything but I am flying and hovering all over the place...however...last night in failing light I went in nose first. Only damage was busted tail rotor somehow??? Anyway, tonight I fixed rotor and set out to fly and my Heli had the hops! Something is making it just shoot up and down with no throttle change about a foot or two. I changed batteries in Tx in hoping that would help and now the thing is just rotating nose to the right when I power up regardless of how much rudder opposite of this I give it. Did I smash the receiver? Thanks all...

p.s. Regardless of what anyone may think of the CP Pro I think it is a great tool and fun to fly. I have learned so much from all my crashes and much more from my flights.

assume you are flying outside? i notice when outside if the wind is a bit gusty it can cause the heli to change altitude. and sometimes just nervous thumbs can contribute as well. i don't think fixing the tail rotor would cause the hops. as for nosing to the right, that could be caused by the tail repair. make sure the rotor is perpendicular to the tail boom. may also need to adjust the proportional gain.

oh yea, if you have been flying for a month, your tail motor could be about shot. you start to loose tail control when the tail motor is about done. they really don't last that long. i am on my 3rd one in about 6 weeks.

i also love the cp pro but i do not like having to replace the tail motor so often. this sounds crazy but i enjoy enjoy flying the cppro as much as the trex.

Check your blade pitch and collective.

Thanks guys,

The blades are tracking perfectly and I have flown it inside the garage just to see if the wind was a factor and it did the same thing so nature is out......I will replace tail motor and see if that helps. How do you check the collective?

Malty, which T-Rex do you have?

I have the same problem. I'm flying the HB CP2, I've upgraded to the brushless motor and noticed it was a bit twitchy. after a hard crash due to a twitch it is now much worse. it is almost impossible to fly. at times I'll be spooling up and I'll notice the servos going crazy, I'll kill the throttle and it will stop, it doesn't do this every time, but it does it does it so often I"m afraid of even hovering. I think I"m ready to move on from this toy to a real rc Helli.

How close id your ESC to the rx? I'm not sure but I've heard of glitches due to the proximity of two electronic devices.

if you ever have a bad head and tail yo yo it's the main shaft replace it

I just replaced the main shaft and that's when the servos really started to act up.

I had my esc right on top of my 4 in one, but I have recently moved it under my battery. the servos where still very twitchy. I have even moved flying locations to see if there was local interference, still twitchy. I think its the esc, and I cant get it far enough away from my 4 in 1, so I'm thinking of putting the brushed motor back on.

Ferrite ring on the ESC to servo lead may help. Remove/re-seat rcvr xtl might help. Esc on battery rails below main gear may also help.

Theres been a few post lately about the Yo Yo problem. I wonder if E-flite knows about it?

I dunno if this is still an active Q, but check out this website. It explains nearly all of the problems that could cause that, and it shows you step by step with pictures how to fix it
http://www.bladecprepair.com/cause.php?symptom_id=3&curr_category=All%20Categories

btw it's called a "sticky" collective problem.

Hope this helps,

I had the same problem with mine right out of the box. It was a bad conection inside of the servo. I took the servo apart and re soldered the wire and since then only user errors
