Hello everyone........

I'm new to this obsession, having posted only a couple of times. But since Christmas when I was gifted with a CX2, I've been hooked. I didn't take the advice here (at first) and I bought a CP Pro, which I was able to fly, but not without frustrations. I'm now building my first 450 SE and learning more about myself than I knew possible. Finally.....a hobby the better half can live with!

My question is this:

I've heard that it's possible to get a USB receiver which plugs into the computer and allows you to use your Tx in SIM programs. Is this true? Can anyone tell me where I might find one? The Tx I'm using is a DX7, which I'm told is the last Tx I'll ever need to buy. I also have a few G3 downloads, which I want to use with my Tx. HELP!!

Please, if anyone can help, tell me where I can find a USB RF receiver that I can use with my DX7, I'd be forever grateful!

The exact hardware varies by sim. MicroMan showed the hardware for FS One. Realflight G3 includes a transmitter like USB device AND includes cables to inteface from that box to your transmitter. They include cables for Futaba and JR (and maybe some others, I don't recall).

The JR cable will work with your DX7. Be sure and devote a separate model memory for use with the sim and set the system menu (hold stuff at power up) [TRAINER] menu to NORMAL (it is by default inhibited.

So, nearly any sim that supports JR transmitters will work fine with DX7.

So in other words, it is cable connected, not RF? I was under the impression it was RF (small USB receiver) that picked up signal from the DX7. I guess I was wrong. I'll learn more when I actually RECEIVE the DX7 (which I just purchased, but have not yet received). Either way, thanks for all the info.......!!!

Spektrum does make a wireless module for DX7 to Sim connection. This one: http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=SPM1800

Works only with FS One, as far as I know. If you have FS One already, great option!

If you do not have FS one, and I know I'm going to get flamed here... but... gotta say it... buy almost any other sim. FS One needs a few releases to come up to snuff with Realflight G3, Reflex XTR and the like.

So, for now, use your DX7 with Reflex XTR with thier JR cable, or use Realflight G3 with it's included transmitter (or your DX7 with their JR cable, included in the G3 box).
