I'm looking for a base setup for a stock head Raptor 50 V2 on the DX7, I've never setup a heli before just fly the BCCP.
I realize someone elses setup wont be perfect but may help me with a good rough starting point.
I went through Jermos Rev. 3 DX7 setup but I'm needing some more info. Any setup info would begreatly appreciated. :dontknow

I'm on a JR7202, which is the same basic radio with a Raptor 50V2.
You're going to have to set up a lot of things on your own, as each ship is different depending on components, etc., but this'll get you going. Disclaimer: I'm certainly no expert, and I'm also flying at 5000ft...
Thro - rev
Aile - rev
Elev - rev
Rudd - rev
Gear - norm
Pitch - norm
Aux2 - norm
I have the gyro on the Gear channel (set to gear, not gyro), and a throttle jockey on the Aux 2 channel. I have throttle recovery active (nice feature), and the throttle hold position is 15%.
Failsafe takes the throttle to -170%, and all other channels hold.
Now, the big question... throttle and pitch curves. You're going to need a tach, and someone to help you in setting these up.
My pitch curves are the same for all three flight modes (I'm going to be putting these mechanics in a scale fuse). Make sure your throttle hold pitch curve matches the curve you're going to be flying in, so you don't have a major pitch change if you have to auto. My pitch is set up for ~5 deg negative at the bottom, 0 at mid stick and 10 deg on top. On my heli, this is 20-36-50-inh-100 in the radio. Yours may be different, so set it up with a pitch gauge. I think the manual says to start out with 5 deg at mid stick, but I prefer 0 at mid stick.
Throttle curves are where you're going to need the tach and a friend. I have an OS50 hyper, and it takes REALLY low throttle numbers to achieve high headspeeds at low pitch numbers. Start LOW and work your way up. Two friends who recently set theirs up had 1900-2000 HS at mid stick when starting out
At 0 pitch 55% on my ship gives around 1750 HS. What you need to do is get your headspeed set at mid stick (1550-1600 is good for starting out in Norm), and then develop your curve to hold that HS as you increase pitch. Do the same for your idle up modes (I'm using 1750, but you'll want more for 3D). I'm also using a limiter to prevent overspeed when unloading the rotor.
It takes a while to get this dialed in... be patient. I've been flying my Raptor for about a month and I'm still fiddling with the throttle curves. I also changed fuel recently, and that changes everything...
Anyway, hope this helps!

Thanks for the input, I didn't realize getting setup electronically is this difficult.
I appreciate your reply. thanks again.
