What's a Bergin XL w/ys91 4-stroke engine?

Anyone have pics or know where I can get some pics or info on this heli? Is it a good heli?

Would come with engine, NJR Servos but no electronics for $800 USD

All the Bergens are exellent machines, I don't have any experience with the four stroke, Chris may have the answer for you. Are you speaking of the one hanginging in the hobby store in Edmonton?

Yes, that's the one! How did you know that? :)

It's nice, but no info and they store employee's.. well, not sure they even know it's a helicopter or not. Absolutely no enthusiasm to sell.

Two possibilities,

It's an Intrepid 4 stroke, if so it's fairly old , but parts are still available.

It's an original X-Cell, with our 4 stroke conversion done to it. Parts would be VERY hard to come by...

Well, thanks for all the help guys/gals; appreciate it. I've decided to pass on it due to the fact that I can not get any info on it and apparently they are in no hurry to sell it for the guy.

No offence, but now thinking of a JR Vibe 90.

Chris, it is an Intrepid 4 stroke, I have seen the heli up close as our office in Edmonton is about 2 miles from the hobby shop. Seems to be in good shape for sure.

What a shame :(

Well, I would gladly consider a Bergin even more, but there just are no distributors. Would I have to order directly from them/him? When I visit http://www.bergenrc.com/IntrepidGAS.asp all I see is two small pics, a blurb and a "click here to buy" link.

Sorry, but I just can't spend thousands of dollars on a heli based on a short blurb and a couple thumbnails... just goes against everything when I think about it. Kind of frustrating actually because it sounds good based on what I hear people say, but I can't spend that much money based on that either.

What would I need to decide you ask/think?

Well, ultimately, it would be nice to see one up close at my local hobby hole but if that's not an option, more media info would definately help... maybe the PDF manual online, more pics, videos, a review or two, etc.

Lane, you are making a mistake....these heli's are awesome!!! i can understand about the web site but this company has the best customer support out there!!!

I have an Evo90 as well and i can tell you that if i ever had a question about it the only responce i would get would be from forum members.....with my Bergen, which was purchased used, the company owner responds to the questions...here and usually within a couple hours. If he cannot , one of the many great reps will get back to me [Greg and the guys, thanks]...worth alot more than flashy web pages etc.....

These heli's are at the top of the list...no extra bling to buy, no extra BS..just down to earth quality and family ownership....

Yeah, it might not be the flashiest website and you won't find em in a lot of hobby stores but you don't see that many Lamborghinis running around either. Doesn't make them any less of a car.

Not only will you be getting a fine quality machine, you'll get to deal with some of the best people around. I've never encountered better support. :D

My 2 cents worth...I too think you're making a mistake. I just finished building an Intrepid EB here in Calgary and would never go another route. Parts req'd are shipped pronto always and customer service 2nd to none. Even from all the regulars on this forum. I haven't even started on the fact that they are kicken helis!!

My buddy has a Voyager GSR and often jokes about how the Bergen customers along with the Bargen family seem to be  one big happy family all the time. Typically he doesn't find the same with his manufacture.

Think about it!
