Well this sucks. I was home for lunch and against my better judgement went for a quick video with my new Askman mount. Needless to say it wasent the video I was expecting. Im still not sure what exactly hapened I was up very high for me and my eyes started watering, next thing I know I heading full speed into the groung through a tree :) Im trying to laugh this off but it is very hard. Damage looks to be @ 1000.00 worst being a smashed 4900evo and my new Casio Z1000 camera havent tried electronics to see if they still work. But one thing I am amaized at is the ASKMAN Mount is fine. Not so much as a scratch . Man he knows how to make a mount. wish Askman made helis cause id be first in line. And to top it all off, my spartan 2000i will be here in a few days :arggg: new i should have waited ! Well everyone likes a good crash video.... so enjoy :)

Now i dont know if I should buy another kit or all the pieces ? oh well

That sucks!!!

Get that battery out of your HOUSE! you need to get that in something protective so it don't set your home on fire.

Sorry for your loss! I know exactly what it feels like when I semi-autoed my Rap50 into the ground. I'm sure you'll be up and flying in no time!

Ouch! I've found hovering high and almost straight overhead can be tricky. Get an AP2000i for sure!

Check out http://www.acceleratedrc.com/ - his frame is G10, just like the Askman mount. I had a pinon slip on my Trex450 at about 50ft AGL and the blades nearly stopped before I noticed the problem. There was no auto to speak of - just a drop from 50 ft. The Accelerated RC frame had zero damage! The frame protected the Lipo, and the tail mount is so strong I could drive my truck over it!

[Edit] some how missed this was a 600. The frame above is only available for the 450. Sorry about that.

Wow that sucks man. glad to see the mount is okay. You can find trex600 kits cheap without the electronics.
I just tried to fly my 600 with the askman mount a few days ago,

but my balance was off so I was all over the place. I stayed under 30 ft AGL and landed after about 2 minutes. I got a lot of tweaking to do before I try to take it up again. If your boom is not cracked down the length, you can use it to stretch your trex. If you dont want to stretch it, i'll buy your broken boom from you :D

@ bullaculla ... i had severe vibration on test flight. i think the mounts should not be so tight. In your picture where tou have the metal standoffs. try a !/4" rubber tubing as a standoff. Find some rubber hoe that the screw fits snug thrugh it. took away almost all my vibratiion. I have 1/4" above and below the mount withe the mounting screw going threw it.

Sorry for the loss. Always turns your stomach when you read the title of a thread like this.

That's great advice regarding the rubber spacers. I'll give it a shot.
