Howdy. if your wondering how to change your mode 1 dx7 to mode 2 without any real surgery required. just a phillips head screw driver and some needle point pliers.
For instance my mode 1 dx7 had throttle and rudder on the right stick and aerl and elev on the left stick.
take the screws out of the back of the Tx casing, use your phillips head screwdriver to undo the metal friction bar ( which gives the throttle the holding abillity) then remove the spring arm from the aerl elev control by using your needlepoint pliers to gently remove the spring. the arm then just slides off the metal pin.
Remove the brass hex spacer and basically instllall the hex spacer and friction arm in what used to be the the aerl elev control, then re install the spring arm in what used to be the throttle rudder. put the spring in first before trying to atatch it to the arm.
Now the control feels like it is a mode 2 but if you tried to turn your tx on tried to fly your bird it would still be mode 1.
To complete the process press down and select after the Tx has been turned on , scroll down untill you get to Prog.Mix 1
here you assign the controls to the channels!
read page 92 - 95of your instruction book
the best thing is throttle curves pitch curves everything still works brilliantly so no need to wait for the next shipment of mode X its so easy to change .. if you can build a heli you can do this
technically there is no reason you cannot make it mode 3 or 4 as well you may need to fabricate friction bars out of spring steel which should be petty easy
