Hello everyone. My first post here... have been eyeing up RC helis for last two years and with my 21st birthday coming up..... I think I just might be able to get myself enough funds for a radio set, sim and a raptor 30... maybe even 50. or otherwise at least the radio and the sim for now....

Anyhow, I've been watching these forums and I have to say I was amazed at how helpful you guys are. You're a really great bunch out here, and I would like to just say my thanks for all the help I've had reading other posts and for the help to come.

I have been throughly convienced that I should get the RD 8000 from various posts but have no idea where to get it in this side of the world (New Zealand) a place where I can mail order from would be perfect but I would need 40Mhz version for it since over here 72Mhz is used for hearing aids, logging operations and other bunch of things. Can anyone suggest where I might be able to get RD 8000 radio sets from? and can someone tell me if Mode 1 and Mode 2 can be changed on these radios? I've noticed that many people over here (especially plank fliers) fly Mode 1 but I just cannnot see how a person can possibly coordinate themselves to fly in mode 1.... especially since I had a micro-heli which I almost destroyed trying to learn in mode 1 and switched to mode 2.... I'm just been learning to fly full size fixed wing and mode 2 just seems much more natural for me...

Well I'll stop babbling there. but what I was trying to say was I would like to have the flexability of changing mode if I find that I just can't get any help on mode 2. I was considering hitec eclipse 7 before but I noticed that you can't swap between modes on that radio.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Jason.
