Anyone out there plan on setting up the 500 for 5s flight or are most going for 6s? I am wondering which motors and controllers are in mind if you plan on going 5s.

I have a Logo 500 on order and am planning on running my Tango 45-10 and Jazz 80-6-18 on 6s. I think a 5s setup would work great, just stick with a little higher Kv motor. The Align 600 motor or one of the Neu 1512 motors would work good on 5s.
Hacker is coming out with a motor for the T-rex 600 6s setup, which may be another great match. As long as you get the power to the motor there is no reason the 5s should not perform well.

I'm planning to move over my 1907 1.5Y / FP 5S setup over to the Logo 500 3D.

Charles we are all running 6s setups you might want to ask Gary Wright as he has been flying L10's on 5s

Hmmm... why would you run 4S 3700's like on the Lepton or the new Align 500 coming out?
What size 6S packs would you run?

I really like the 5S setup in my logo 10, which should equate directly to the new 500 in size. Many people don't agree with it, and it definately doesn't have the "pop" of the 6S, 4-minute setups that many people are using, but it's the perfect fit for my style of flying that's sort of "old school" where I'm not trying to blow the heli appart in the air <G> . I spin just over 2000 on the head, and at 12 and 12 on pitch now it loads to a shade under 2000 at full stick, and I get 8 minutes on 5S 4500's, using around 80% of the pack. It's also very lightweight with the small motor. My L10 is 4 lbs 10 oz. Everything lands in the 120 to 125 degree range. It's a hacker A30 10XL (around $80 I think) with a master-o-48 controller (I have a few of them, and can't see spending more money on something else), 5S 4500 and 5S 4600 TP extreme packs, and the larges pinion available (23 I think).

Gary's setup on 5s is very impressive with the newr 20to25c batteries it makes it even easier

I was wondering if the 4300 to 4500 mah packs were too big or not, Question answered. Thanks guys, I didn't even have to post the question  BTW, I'll be running a Neu 1910 1Y and Jazz 80-6-18.
But now I wonder, are the 5000 mah Evo 20 packs too big? Or will 5s5000 with on a L10 with the setup I have listed? :dontknow
