Well the prefered engine is the OS37 but the 32 will get you by for a while.
http://www.heliproz.com is probably the best place for Raptors.
Also
http://www.onlyraptors.com and
http://www.ronlund.com are all reputable heli shops.

You might as well skip the 30 and get a 50...it will save you money in the long run...
You certainly can go with a Raptor 50 V2 and use your 32 in it for now. Once you need more engine then get the OS 50 hyper but initially your 32 should be fine.
I believe the only difference in the 30 and the 50 is the length of the tail.

The motor mount, gearing, tail boom and belt and blade size are all different and the 32 wouldn't come anywhere near swinging the 600mm blades or operate well with that gearing or mount to that motor mount.

excellent post, andy...a lot of guys (including me) might have been thinking that it was possible and practical to enter the nitroheliworld with a 'mild' hyper50 powered by an os32/37...imho, a raptor30v2 w/ os37 is not too shabby for a beginner setup...

The 30 has a lot more power than I thought it would have. After reading about it I expected something pretty tame when I bought mine but was pleasantly suprised. It doesn't have the never-ending power the 50 seems to have sometimes.... but it has plenty of power to do most tricks with ease (just go easy on the collective).... and mine is just running an OS 32 with tuned pipe. Eventually you will want more power, but for a beginner or just a beginner to nitros its a great start. The 20 minute run times are great. It would be almost a chore to burn a gallon through a 30 in a weekend..but through a 50 its pretty average. The 30 is easliy upgraded to a 50 for around 100 bucks plus motor.

You can tame a 50 to act like a 30, but you can't make a 30 act like a 50. IMHO. I would suggest saving your money on the 30 and just go for the 50. It is a upgrade that almost everyone I know goes through. Save your money and just go for the 50 :badair:
Took me about a Month and I was upgrading. I was very Happy with my 30, but am Extremely happy with the power of the 50...
