one way bearing orientation??? not sure

when i was building the kit the oneway bearing fell out of the gears on to the table. the manual said to put it in with the notch showing. i didnt see a notch so i put it in with the side up with the words(lock) on it. is this right :dontknow

if you put the mainshaft in to it and turn it clockwise it should move freely, turn it ccw and it should lock up. Ron i think the writing is on the bottom. Ron

the main shaft spins freely when i turn it clockwise or counter clockwise. does this mean it's in wrong. should i change it around
