I seem to be having a problem with my titan I'm still fairly new to rc heli's and thought I'd try my hand at a mini titan. I seem to be having a problem with a hard drift to the left. This only seems to be the case when I take it outside. If I'm hovering it indoors it's fine. All my trims are fine and swash is level I've even oiled the swash in hopes it would elimate the problem. Any help please. Thanks in advance.

Are you trying to trim it so the heli hovers dead flat? The Mini Titan hovers with the right skid low due to the couple created by the position of the main & tail rotors, if you try to trim this out the heli will skid left when it gets off the ground.

I'm not trying to trim it out dead flat. However in a hover it seems to sit that way. I'll give it a try and adjust the trim accordly.

Also worth checking is that your swash stays level as you increase pitch. With CCPM this can be caused by things like your servo arms being at slight different angles, different types of servos used together or your CCPM mixing setup slightly wrong.

Bit hard to tell without knowing how severe your drift is but normally you should see any major drift beyond that mentioned by stevehonn which is pretty minimal.

One thing with the Mini Titan is that the ball links are quite tight to start with and this can make trimming out difficult as they don't move smoothly and can be slightly jerky as they move across the balls. I left mine and they eased up nicely after a half dozen flights or so but some flyers are reaming them slightly to make them smooth from the start.

Would be interesting to know at what altitude (to differentiate from ground effect)

I was surprised by the same thing (being a newbie) until I realized that 60 cm from the ground and.. No more drift to the left.. :glasses2:

Not really sure how far 60cm is because I'm not terribly familiar with the system, but yes, as you get farther away from the ground you lose the "ground effect". The wind being moved by the blades like to play the helicopter if it's close enough. It's said about a rotorhead's length from the ground will leave you okay

Its called translating tendency and they all do it. Its caused by the tail rotor blowing the helicopter sideways. Even the full scale ones do it, which way it leans depends on the direction of rotation of the main rotor.

Is it a tail drift or lean?

If the tail is drifting you need re-setup your gyro.
