I am new to ehli flying and I am short of money, in ebay I am looking for a good used cheap radio, can somebody tell me which is better in the same price range, I have a Hirobo shuttle with Futaba reciever and servos and a very bad Futaba 6XH which I want to replace for the curves and CCPM, the following are in the same price range for used radios :
1. Futaba 7CHP
2. JR 8103 regular vs digital trims
3. DX6 or do I have to go for DX7, and in this case do I have to change the reciever and servos
thanks

Im not familar with any of the other radios you mentioned but people sure do like the DX7. If you get the DX7 you need to to change the Rx to AR7000 or AR6100 or AR9000, you can use the same servos.

The software on the DX7 is at least a match for the other radios you've mentioned and I would strongly advise going this route. You will be tied to using Spektrum receivers as MicroMan says but this would also be true if you used PCM receivers and I would always recommend this as a minimum plus Spektrums prices are pretty reasonable. The security of the connection of the DX7 plus no worries about being shot down by frequency errors is worth it and 2.4ghz systems look to be the future.

The DX6 has a "shorter" range than the DX7 and the DX7 has more Pitch, curves than the DX6. The DX7 has the newer DSM technology so Id go with the DX7 personally. I just picked up my DX7, so Id choose not to go with the older technology ie: DX6. I think if you can afford it go with the DX7.
