I weighed a stock CPP at my LHS the other day (with stock battery) it came in at 280 grams. I weighed my whirlybird with the following:

370 BL setup.
Microheli CNC head (e-flite alum. swash)
DD Tail
Microheli tail guard (that thing that keeps the tail rotor off the floor)
G90 HH gyro
and a aluminum plate that extends the battery and allow ESC mounting (1/32" thick)
Two LEDs (one blinky on the tail fin and one that shines on the CNC head)

My weight came in at 400g. It flies great for me but, Is this just too heavy? I dont do 3D stuff (noob) and the bird has what I would call pleanty of power.

Thoughts?. :dontknow

My guess is to check the motor temps(main & tail) , ESC temp and the battery temp. If you're able to do anything you want and the motors and battery are still not overheating, I'd say you're fine. (or at least you're not stressing the electrics)

The only things left are frame & rotor blades. I seriously doubt the frame is THAT weak. (I'll let you know how that other frame works :) ) I don't know about the blades, but you could always consider CF
