in heli orientation, the heli always seems to drift left. is that normal in real heli's? the trims dont seem to help much and ive calibrated the controller numerous times. any input would be great.

yepper thats normal.
its due to the tail rotor thrust pushing the bird to the left.
can slow it a little with trim but it will always be there

i have another problem with g3... i dont have any shadows from the helicopter which makes it hard to judge the height sometimes... does anybody else experience this

I've noticed that on my laptop. Even with shadows turned on.

The shadows are probably rendered with a stencil buffer. Could be a driver issue or the graphics card might simply not support it.

I had the same issue when I installed G3. After upgrading per the recommendations on the software package, the issue went away. Definitely a whole new experience. Everything is sharper, with a huge improvement in the non-photo fields.

I had this until I went to a better video card.

Your video card may not support shadows.
