I have a strange thing going on with my GV-1 with stator gator. It started when I installed my new DX7 radio. I have it set up to be controlled with the AUX channel on the Flight Mode switch. When I watch the settings I see that is is off in Normal, set to 1660 in ST-1 and 1750 in ST-2. In is fine in Normal, everything is fine GV-1 is off. In ST-1 the engine and head speeds up to 1890 according to my tach.

I further checked the gear ration, it's 6.43 with a 14T pinion and 90T main gear.

I didn't have my throttle curves for ST-1 and ST-2 set up very good, they were way high they were 92.5, 55, 92.5 when normal high is only 77.0 and mid point is 47. I thought it didn't matter what the curves were and I didn't have a chance to test it after I changed the curve to mirror the Normal curve. Do the curves effect the GV-1 when the curves are way too high?

Any help on diagnosing this is appreciated.

Yes. When you switch modes the servo will jump to your throttle curve setting and then the gv-1 will throttle it back over time. But in your case I would say make sure you reset the idle, full and kill limits on the gv-1 as if you changed radios and the throttle sevo atvs changed it will throw off the gv-1.

I thought I reset everything when I changed the radio, but I'm getting to old to remember. I'll reset evrything and retry. Should I bring the throttle curve in a bit lower then I normally would and let teh GV-1 step up the throttle rather then bring it down?

Yes, step up is better than step down. When I set mine up I set it so there is no difference (no change in rpms when I turn the gv-1 on/off inflight) but over time it changes due to mixture or temperature conditions but anyway if setup this way its in the ballpark.
