I picked up another 430XL motor for my Mini Titan yesterday. Only 2 quick flights so far, but I love it!!! I was flying the motor/ESC combo that shipped with the Mini Titan but I was never very happy with it. It had "ok" power, but nothing spectacular. I bought a 430XL for my Rex last weekend and love it, so I picked up another for my Mini Titan and its a great combo. I was having a problem with hot batteries (130-140) with the stock setup, but after installing the new motor I am down to 105 for the 2 flights last night which is the same temps I am getting with my Rex. If anyone is thinking about trying this combo I would say go for it.

EDIT: I finally took a few pics

I saw one of the proto motors in Ian Cranes t-rex in Vegas, had great power and held the HS no matter what he threw at it.

This is HYPER interesting

Questions:
- Is the motor is: RCM-BL430XL?
- Did you keep the original ESC from the Mini Titan or did you place a new one?
- Is it the same shaft diameter ?

Thank you in advance.

I'm not sure about the exact model number but it is the new 430XL motor, not the 430L.

I bought a new Align 35X speed control when I switched to the new motor. My Mini Titan ESC/Motor is being transfered to a Trex XL HDE.

Shaft diameter is the same (3.2 I thnk), I took the pinion off of my Titan motor and used it on the 430XL motor.

I have run into a problem though. Since putting in this motor, I love the power and run the heli twice as hard as I was running it. Since doing this, my temps are up to where they were with the stock setup (although it feels like twice the power). If you are using 20C or better batteries, you will be fine. While using 16C batteries, I can only run 3:30 seconds of constant flipping or my batteries start puffing. With 22C batteries I can run a 5 min flight with no problems and no puffing. I could run 5 mins with the 16C batteries, but not with constantly flipping the heli around. If I run it doing normal circuits or hovering with the occasional flip, 16C batteries work fine.

The JGF 500TH is another awesome motor - I have one in my Trex SE and it is pretty fantastic. I run a 450TH/15T in my MT and it has great power and good headspeed (~2700RPM), but I find my FP 20C batts are required, my older TPGen2's aren't quite up to the challenge. The 430XL has very similar specs to the 500TH.
