Well the Kevlar wrapped Hacker rotors are still going good at 34 flights each!

Hobby lobby did replace the Actro 32-3 I had go south but my hackers are going so good I haven’t tried it again. I know the 32-3 has a bit moor power then the hackers but the hacker setup works great and taxes the batteries less = less heat and longer flights.

I think this winter I will build a new Ion and use the Actro 32-3 and 12 cells. There has been talk about running the 32-4 on 12 cells; will the 32-3 also work with this? If so can you (Chris) set me up with the right gearing when I’m ready? :glasses2:

As of this writing, no. I need like 12.5:1+ to make that motor work with 12S. Things just may change very quickly though to facilitate that. I have been looking at higher voltage setups lately in order to reduce the battery cost. New gearing is probably in the works.

Some controls are around the corner that will make this possible. It's looking like things are starting to turn in the direction of higher voltage stuff. Probably in the spring.

In the meantime, enjoy that 32-3 on 10S and 9.5:1. I have two of them now and love 'em.

Chris

I have an older kit with Hacker power which does not have the new design rotor (kevlar wrapped). Any word on getting these older motors updated to the new design? I really like the added safety factor, and would not mind paying to get the improvemt-upgrade.

Thanks
Dave

Dave,
I called Hacker back when I bought mine.
They said no problem on sending it in for the new stator and such, but it would cost you the new stator is basically what he told me.
If I didn't run it he would swap it out for nothing, but the shipping to get it there.
Course this was about 4 months ago. :D

They told me if it went bad they were going to fix it so I decided to fly it. I am not flying mine that hard so it was not too much of a concern to me.

Russ beats his up. :D :D
