I just got back from the LHS with a DX7, opened it up and realized it was the airplane version. The manual DOES have heli info in it. So I'm wondering, other than the little airplane logo and a few other switch labels, is there any other difference? Even if they're the same, it bugs the heck out of me that it's not unique to helis. Thanks for your input. :DOH

The only difference is the location of the idle up and gear switches.
I have been using the plane version myself since the heli was sold out when I was getting a radio for my Rex.

Thanks for the reply fllyer. So what is the layout of the switches? Which one is idle up? etc. BTW, my next heli will be a 450SA. How do like it?

The idle up switch is on the "face" of the radio (the long one) labeled as flap mix. the gear switch is on the top left.
And I really like my 450SA. It's so much better than the CCP that I started with.

Anyone know how to convert from mode 2 to mode 1? I bought the DX7 for my helis which I fly mode 2 but when the modules are available I'll be going back to my 9303. I'd like to use the DX7 for my planes but I fly these mode 1! Changing over isn't as simple as the 9303 and I know the gimbals have to be swapped, any futher info greatfully received!

sell it to a mode 2 guy and buy just a mode one tx.
simple solution
less work
fewer places for screw ups
Sounds good, its a pitty I can't sell it now as there is huge demands for mode 2 handsets but when the Spektrum modules for the 9303 arrive, so will the next batch of mode 2 sets
