I see on the RJX website that parts fit Hurrican 50 and AS50. What is AS50? Is it the electric version?

Nice looking carbon parts. Anyone using the cf blades from RJX, and if so, how would you compare them to some of the other well known blades.

Also, are most of you running the OS hyper 50 in your hurrican 50's, and how long flight time are you getting with the fuel tank?

I've been reading thru the forum and wondering if I should wait for the trex600n, or give this one a shot. Price of parts seem reasonable, but only one place to get them. That is the only drawback I can see so far.

Thanks for all of you sharing pic's, but we need some more video.....Please, thanks, gordo

Hi Gordo,

AS50 is the JR Air Skipper 50, we also have an Electric conversion kit that uses the entire heli minus the engine/clutch bell, and fuel tank everything else remains in tact. Helibrite is the US Distributor and carries enough spares to support every heli that is sold, he is also looking to have a few hobby shops carry the Hurrican but want to ensure that you will always have parts so he is looking to start off with just a few shops to make sure that the customers are taken care of, nothing like going to a LHS only to find they are out and you have to wait a week or so so he wants to make sure that the shops he chooses are going to carry all the replacement parts and be able to support there customers.

We run an OS50 hyper with a Hatori JK pipe and get over 10 minutes closure to 12 with the 2oz header tank and the kits also include a header tank.

Bobby Smith Electric guru has run the carbon RjX blades on the "E" Hurrican and his other Electric and glow machines and is very pleased with them, he compares them with Rotortechs that he has flown in the past.

look in the HF Video forum there are two videos of our RJX pilot with his carbon glow machine, he's 14 yr old Steven Fox, he is flying the full carbon/full metal 007 kit

If you made it to the Port Charlotte Fun Fly Steven was one of the noon demo pilots with the yellow canopy, he flew right behind Jared.

Very nice solid machine, stable hover and FFF, and can take a 3D beating.

This heli has been out in Europe for almost two years and Helibrite brought it to the US about 6 months ago, G-10 or carbon stacked frame design, metal bearing blocks throughout, push/pull on the CCPM setup, can be built CCPM or MPM all hardware included for either build preference, carbon with radix blades and 14oz/2oz header with fiberglass canopy weighs 8.4 lbs ready to fly.

Were going to be in Tampa Saturday for Erich's Tampa Classic, if your there look us up.

Looks like Clyde covered everything :noteworthy I get 12-13 minutes with the hyper and the 16 oz's of fuel. The Hurrican is built for the OS 50 Hyper. And thats what I like about the Hurrican. Clyde said it weighs in at 8.4 lbs. Well mine was 8.3 ready to fly. My titan wieghs in at 10.7. As for parts I am not worried about getting them. I know all I have to do is give Rusty a call and the parts are already there. He just has to send them off.

I havent not tried the RJX blades yet. But will when I need another set. I really wasnt wanting to buy a Hurrican at first. Then I read the manual and something just clicked in me. I had to try this heli. Now that I have flown it. I sure am glad that I did. I'm not sayting this becouse this is the hurrican forum, But my hurrican is truely my favorite heli. She flys straight and true and hovers with little input to the sticks.

Thanks for the info guys. Ive been talking to Rusty, via pm, and he has been more than willing to help with a bunch of my questions.

I guess there are 2 problems I'm having,

1- The RJX website doesn't have many closeup photos of the different models of the Hurrican, showing whats under the canopy and tail section. (not meant to critisize)

2-There are NO heli's in stock to really tempt me...lol..(again, not meant to critisize)

I know, they are so popular that you have to be quick, hehe

I am tossed between a rock and a hard place. I had a raptor 50, and got into the electric's, and now have a logo10, 14, and 2 cf trex 600's. I have decided to sell my silver cf trex600 that I have as a backup, and replace it with a nitro. I really only want one nitro, to fill the battery gap between charging at the field, and the 600n looks appealing because I already have parts for the bird.

The other thing is the torque tube tail. I have been using this, and for 104 dollars for the whole thing is a great value, and super smoothe operation. So, If I get a hurrican, I will be giving up the tt, and getting a metal tail unit for 140, and will possibly loose some free energy?

I guess you all can see what my dilemma is, they both look to be awesome machines, but the hurrican definately intrigues me, as I already own a trex600e, and know the flight characteristics, so maybe something new is in order? We are all soooo adicted to this hobby, aren't we?

Anyway, I'm still looking, and wish I could be in tampa this weekend to see one up close. Thanks again, and someone please post some video's as soon as you can. Gordo

I know what you mean. You are facing a hard decision. I have never owned a heli where I couldnt run down the street and get parts. But even tho I havent needed any parts for my hurrican I am sure they will be there when I do need them.

As for videos there are a few here on HF you can search for them
Or here is one of Steven Fox

Sent you the addy.

Another question, what is a good governor, easy to setup, and will perform well.
I want something that I won't want to upgrade later. Keep in mind that I am using a DX7, with 7 channels, at least for now, so It must be able to work with that radio. Thanks, gordo

I've got a DX7 and Aerospire Multigov. With the Multigov there is no mucking around with pmixes. All you need to do is set AUX2 to the flight mode switch and you are done with the radio programming. Everything else is programmed into the Multigov using the detachable LCD panel. Set an individual head speed or gov off for each flight mode and set full gov or limit mode for each flight mode. Setup rocks!!

The CSM revlock is very easy to set up your desires headspeed, with or w/o a channel on your tx. If you want PC programability the CSM RL20 gives you that. I like knowing exactly what I am telling my engine to run at and that is exactly what CSM does for you.

I also run the TJ limiter and it is good for remote adjustability.

Both work well for me. I will buy the CSM when I need another.

Thanks for the closeups, very nice looking heli for sure.

I did look at the multigov, and their website is awesome. I like this setup, and with all the info on their website to show setup and such, this will be my next gov.

Thanks all, gordo
