What are the signs that a LIPO is at the end of its life? Is it like a normal battery where it just wont last as long under a load?

I am asking because i have two packs that only held a charge like 2 minutes today. I had them both for a long while through a few different heli's. Now i have them on my TREX 450 and like as soon as i got into a hover the LIPO alarm went off. Yet i had just charged them like last night to a full charge. So would these be at the end of there life? or am i doing something wrong?

I appologize for my noobishness, but LIPO is new technology for me and i'm not real sure.

I would say that's a pretty good sign.

Lipo's will loose thier punch, buildup heat faster, swell, loose capacity and dump much faster as they start to die. Not all at once but they will start to show signs of death in thier own specail way.
This is a good reason to monitor each charge on the packs and the temps after flights.
