Is anyone running a Castle Ice LITE on their 450 pro? I would like to mount the ESC under the battery tray like the Align stock and of course the Ice regular won't fit under there. Just not sure if it will get overheated with no cooling fins.

No problems here. Esc temp only gets around 110 degrees in 85 degree weather.

The ICE lite 50 is what Castle Creations actually recommended me to buy when I called and asked for tech advice. I also mounted mine under the battery tray. It is a tight fit, but works perfect!

I was fighting with mine to get it under the battery tray and then just decided to put it on the side of the frame like I did on my 500.

It doesnt care... mine came down like 150-170 all last summer.... maybe 900 flights with it now? I think Castle says 210 or something before thermal shutdown.....

LOL, I have the CC Ice 50 (not the lite) on my sport. Guess I'll go with the Lite. Should have my Scorpion Monday or Tuesday. Helidirect has the Scorpion 2221-8 in stock by the way in case anyone was wondering.
I was fighting with mine to get it under the battery tray and then just decided to put it on the side of the frame like I did on my 500I checked today at my LHS and it will fit. I ordered the KDE battery tray along with the Scorpion motor so I will have some extra room anyway.
Thanks for all the replies:cheers

I have ICE 50 not lite under battery tray using KDE battery tray.
Not that tight with ESC rotated.

Tight fit, but its in there. Just make sure you leave enough slack in the wire to the receiver so you can hook it to your castle link easily.
I have an ICE 50 and it fits under the battery tray too, even before my KDE upgrade. I did have to cut out a section of the stock battery mount and canopy clip, basically separated them so there was room for the motor leads to stick out.

Super happy with my ICE Lite 50, yup under the tray, no mods. temps get to 200 on hard flights, flying in the Florida Summer, but I have Many Many flights on the unit!

I have rewired it since the video, I was ashamed of the wire job:oops:

Thinking about getting a couple of these for my 450s'. Do they have governor mode? On the site I can't tell if they're saying both the Ice, and Ice lite have it or if it's just the ice. Thanks!

Yes, the Ice Lite 50 has a VERY GOOD governor!
