I have been chasing a tail vibration problem on the Swift for a while now.
I finally chased it down to the tail hub.
The tail grips are supported by a thru-bolt only, and make it very difficult to get the grips tightened enough with out binding the grips. The Century tail slider also has its own problems.
I replaced almost every part in the tail. Tail Shaft, Tail Shaft Bearings, Tail Gear, Control Lever, Slider, Grips, Hub and Blades. For the most part the vibration problem went away, but not enough for AP work.
After looking at my parts box for a while, the solution made itself evident, drop the Swift hub/grips and slider, for the same Align Trex 600 parts. 20 minutes later I have a vibration free tail. No mods were made to the Align parts.
I did loose a little pitch range, but not enough to be noticable during AP flight. There is more than enough pitch to hold the tail with a 15mph gusting crosswind in a hover.
