Hello all,

Noob here and was wondering if anyone knows whether the OS FS-52H Surpass will work in a Raptor .50?

Heres the link to OS.

You'll be disappointed. 4-stroke engines have very different torque curves from 2-stroke. You could probably find a 4-stroke that would fly a heli, including that one,(it's been done), but it will suck.

That specific engine is not likely powerful enough for that heli, based on the "rule of thumb" for airplanes that a 4-stroke needs to be about 1.5 times the displacement of a 2-stroke.

Thanks for the info. I've been flying the 4 stroke that comes with the Real Flight G3.5 sim and I like the way it handles. It appears to be very smooth with plenty of power, but it is a sim. Thanks for the info. I'll ask around at my LHS and see if any one has any experience there. I'll probably end up just sticking with the Two stroke though.

Its a neat experement if your into serious tinkering but if you just want to fly get a 50sxh hyper and be done with it. And I doubt that engine would get a Raptor off the ground w/o over heating.
