Hi, I have a Raptor 30 V2 and the heli is locked up. I flew it and then filled it up with gas then it locked up, the engine and blades will not turn. We took the engine out and replaced the clutch bell because it sounds like it is grinding.....After putting it back together it appeared okay until I stuck the starter to it and then it locked up again. It is almost like the engine is mounted to high and is making it rub or something is out of whack. The thing flew okay then this happened. Anyone else had this issue or any advice. What we have done is as follows:
1. Pulled the plug
2. Removed the engine and drained it
3. Attempted to lower the engine as much as possible
4. replaced the clutch bell
All to no avail. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks

sounds as if the fan has backed off and is wedged into the clutch.

Why would it do it all of the sudden, and it only does it when the engine ids tightened down, Gravity tells me this is not possible? Am I looking at it wrong?

the starter actually turns the same direction as you would turn the nut to remove it.
If it's not tightened properly, it will loosen and come off, wedging into the clutch..
They don't put that in the manuals..

What is the proper way, and the stuff you are discussing is the fan and the inner clutch, that is all attached to the engine. right

the proper way is to use a crankshaft locking tool, and inserting it through the back of the crankcase.
It only takes about 1 turn to foul it all up and cause binding.
another acceptable method is to use a wooden dowel to wedge the crankpin from the rear.
Do not use the crank lock that goes in the glowplug hole.. it will bust a hole in the piston.
I've even used a plastic toothbrush handle through the carb opening, however the risk of cracking the crankcase are pretty high.
If you remove the engine and remove the clutch from the fan, I suspect you will find the culprit..

Is there a specific torque, should I use locktite? or is this something that needs to be constantly checked?

Just crank it nice and tight and use locktite on it. Once you get it set, you should not need to constantly check it.

That was the problem, the fan and clutch backed off a bunch. I am lucky that I did not crash the thing. Thanks everyone for your help.
