ok, the video is quite compressed and quite shakey, but it will be improving with time. lots of work to get all the little bugs out of something like this.

Link to videos here! (http://www.heli-chair.com/videos_public/airborn_video_tests)

here is a pic of the camera mounted on the bergen. i have a few more pics on the website and a few more details. hope the videos don't give anyone a headache! Details *click* here. (http://www.heli-chair.com/pilot_vision.html)

Kas what about that gel servo tape... Is that what you have under neath it?

yep, that's the green-goo tape. i think it's a kyosho 'zeal' part. it is very good for certain frequencies, most people recommend it for gyros. i use it on my gy401 and it seems to work pretty well, it is very elastic stuff and quite sticky.

I was watching your video and wondering what your neighbors think of a heli floating around their houses... then I saw that your neighbor has an airplane in his driveway.

Things must be a bit different in your neighborhood... :D

more videos and images to see on this project. unfortunately the latest videos are not from the bergen, but from a kyosho caliber. rest assured, it isn't because the bergen has any problems, it is because the caliber is somewhat expendable compared to the mother-ship. now that i am closing in on things, i will spend the time to engineer a real camera mount for the bergen and get the quality of everything up.

video is recorded at higher quality, compressed for the internet to maximize your 'bang for the megabyte' value. all video is recorded on the ground from the live downlink (which will be fed to the goggles for a live piloting system).

not bad for a couple sticks, one wood screw and some tiewraps!

you will see still images and the link to videos on that webpage.

You appear to be having some of the same growing pains I had with vibrations, I finally gave up and got a mount from Heli Cam Solutions. No more vibrations and also no more lean in the video as you can set the tilt to match your heli's lean at hover.

The Heli Chair looks pretty cool !

Keep up the Great Job always love to see what other folks are doing in AV !!

i almost gave up but i've conquered the vibration issue. the latest video is completely vibration free. as for the wobbling and tilting that the helicotper does, well i'm not gyro stabilized so that is not resolved. however since i'll be flying with my remote video feed, i don't really want it to be overly stabilized yet, it would mask the attitude changes of the heli.

i posted this under aerial video and photography but i suppose i should put it inside this thread too.

i was so excited to get the video smoothed out that i forgot to fuel up. almost had to to my first auto while being recorded on camara! luckily it sputtered and i got down quick. i am very thankful for the high inertia and low friction of the bergen rotor system. i feel very comfortable about engine failures in comparison with a cheaper helicopter such as the kyosho caliber. that thing has such tiny blades and so much friction, i don't see how it can ever auto correctly (but i do know it's possible!)

check the videos in my video vault under "phase_D" video testing, there is a high res (16Mb, 5min) and a low res version (5Mb, 5min):
