Hi

Have just setup my DX7 on my raptor and Trex. I have found that the Gyro setting can only be associated with the RuddDR switch which is funnily the same switch as the Throttle Hold. Luckily the ThrottleHold can be assigned to other switches such as the ElevDR and others which I what I have done to get me past this issue so far but ultimately I would like the ThrottleHold to be on the RuddDR/Hold switch and the Gyro to be on the Gear swtich. Does anyone know of a way to assign Gyro to the gear switch while still using the gyro menu?

Cheers

You can't use channel 5 (gear) for your gyro and the gyro menu page at the same time, but all is not lost. All you have to do is set the end points on channel 5 (gear) and you've done the same thing as the gyro menu. There is really no advantage to using the gyro menu except for a little, very little convenience. For a 50 to 90 size heli I start at about 80% on both sides and about 70% for a 450 size heli. You may have to reverse the channel if your switch position for heading hold is contrary to what you want.

Yer would be nice to be able to assign a switch to the gyro like you can with throttle hold but oh well. Thanks for the help, I'll use the gear setup now.

I hate that part of the DX7 too. I'm still learning with my TRex 450 so I haven't had the occasion to switch gryo modes or use throttle hold during flight so having them on separate switches isn't absolutely necessary for me. However, I do mess around with it a lot when it's not in flight to test or trim it so I separated the functions and assigned throttle hold to the AUX switch so it wouldn't mess with any D/R's I might have set on the other channels.

Of course, this is only needed if you want switch control over the gyro. I suppose when/if I have the gyro setup good, I can just put gyro rate control back on auto assignment through flight mode and put throttle hold back on the Rudder D/R switch where it makes the most sense.

It's all a matter of preference really.

The 9303 has some switches assignable. You need a 14Z to be able to assign every switch. Or an Evo.
