Anyone try a aftermarket tail? I ordered this from Ebay, as I bought the Blade used, and it needed a new body anyways.....photo is from the auction for example.

I have the aluminum upper head already, along with 2 batteries.

I ordered a Blue Canopy, extra outer shaft (mine is a bit wobbly) & motor heatsink as well.

I was thinking of ordering the lower aluminum head, and a 3rd battery as well.

hi y2kgtp - I got the cf tailboom with vertical and horizontal fins and I am very happy with it. It makes the bird look pretty good ,also. Yours looks nice! Happy flying!

This was a photo from the auction. I also ordered the blue canopy, and will post a photo when I get everything together.....

I got tired of taking the rear body off to get to things so I went with the cf tailboom. My cx2 seems to fly better now with the cf tail than with the full body. I also made 2 small aluminum brackets to attach a different skid setup and allow me to put any of my batteries in from under the belly. As far as upgrades I have an aluminum swashplate, upper head, upper bearing holder and I'm waiting on the aluminum lower head. The added weight dose not seem to bother the little bird. I was thinking of adding a small light kit but I don't know yet. I might be gettin kinda carried away with it. Almost forgot, I put 2 small holes in my canopy glass so I could adjust the gyro and proportional unit without taking the canopy off.

p.s. I got the motor heatsink also. It a good idea and it's pretty cheap.

I have the heatsink in shipment to me already, I'm just looking around for the lower head right now.

Is the other aluminum pieces really needed, like the swashplate?

no idea sir. I've only replaced one swashplate after my son flew the cx into the ceiling fan (it was off) and crashed. My concerns are more for the weight of the upgrades than anything so I replaced it with the plastic swash. Nobody flies the CX anymore so I'm probably going to sell it. they are fun Heli but you outgrow them quickly IMHO.

Thanks, I think I will just get the lower aluminum, as it seems to be a popular upgrade as well.

I'm sure I will outgrow mine eventually, but still plan to keep it as it can be flown indoors fairly easily. I went for this one from the reviews, and the fact it comes with a Spektrum radio.

I'm suprized it's the only model that comes with one......I'd like to upgrade 1 day, but still use spektrum, w/o popping for a DX7 price tag
:D

As far as my swashplate it was more a look thing than performance. The plastic flies just as well on mine.

Time for a 2nd charger now
