Seems everyone is running custom CP/CPP's tails. Care to share your info?

I use the DD setup exactly like bladecprepair.com
I don't have enough time on my heli to make any sort of comment about performance, let alone durability...

Stock right now with twin heatsinks. However, Im looking to upgrade to a better tail and was looking at the DD tail or maybe using a Axe CP tail motor on mine. :dontknow

Axe cp motors are pricy for what they are but I've heard they last longer than the GWS and stock motors and are alot cheaper than going brushless. DD with Axe would be interesting.

Stock right now on my CCP. So far, so good. Gain is set on the low side to help with longevity.

I have the Micro Heli Twin Motor set up with the origonal stock motor and a new stock motor the origonal motor has around 8hrs of run time and the new one has around 4. Both are still running well. This is a CCP owner who has NEVER killed a tail motor yet. LOL, knock on wood. :D

Me too, but mine is an original CP and Im still using a single motor!!! Twin heatsinks on the motor seems to be working well for me. CPP wasent out when I got mine.

Do you happen to know how much one of those tail motor heat sinks weigh? I'll put two on each of my motors if they are not going to weigh my tail down.

I just weight one of the OEM tail motor heatsinks on my gram kitchen scale. It weighs about 1 gram.

LOL, nice! I don't think I have much to worry about than. Thank you for weighing that. I cut a little off the heat sink so that it will fit well on the Twin Motor setup anyway so it will probable be a little less than a gram.

I checked DD because that's what I've been using and like. I like the small prop and the "buzz", lol. I had to put an Axe motor on this weekend because I couldn't find the GWS EDP50 CN12-RXC motor at two LHSs. I will try a third LHS tomorrow. I will say the Axe motor and gear drive seems to be smoother that the direct drive with the small prop, has more autority I suppose. BTW, I got the Axe for $15.84, so I bought two. I think the LHS goofed up! I had to move the lipo forward A LOT to get the heli to balance.

I've got a small GWS Fan that I'm going to swap out a BL motor in this week. Hopefully it'll be good. Should be intereting anyway.

Hello everyone I'm new to this but I was reading some of the posts and allot of the questions are about the heat sinks on the Blade CP, When I first started flying my blade cp I ended up replaceing the tail motor 4 times and got real sick of it and started thinking if I put two heat sinks on would it work or would it be too heavy.
Well after about $40+ for tail motor's it work, had no problem with the CG and I haven't replaced the tail motor now in over three months so I have duel heat sinks on the main motor and the tail motor, the tail is still the stock setup, the head has some upgrades and plan to do more in the future. i've still got allot to learn but this has been way too much fun flying helicopters for only flying one now for just about 9 months, i fly planes and have been now for about three years and love it as well and now I have a trex 450xl that I'm working on. wish me luck.
