On the futaba website the R146iP is a low freq. Rx So does that mean my high band ch. 38 crystal wont work properly? Whats the true story behind this? Here is the link to futaba http://www.futaba-rc.com/radioaccys/futl26.html
On the Tower Hobbies website it says it is "Low to High", i.e. any 72mhz channel 11-60.

You're right. I wonder if futaba messed up on their website.

If you look at the reciever itself it says HIGH<>LOW that means its center tuned for the entire band, you dont have to follow the high/low band convention. And like mongo said, single conversion short crystal.
