On my Blade CP Pro with a DX6 it did seem to help, but on something like a t-rex I dont think it would make much differance.
I just used a cap I had in my partts bin.
The one on the pic looks to be about 4700uf at 10vdc

$19.00 for a $1.00 cap with a lead on it.......I think I would have to pass.

If we were to make this ourselves, what capacitor could I use? Seems like it may be a good just in case thing. Why would it not work on a trex?

... Why would it not work on a trex?

You do not need it!! The cap is intended for 4.8V 1/12 scale carpet racer where the voltage can fall below the running voltage of the DX. Your Trex voltage will never get near this lever. If it does... kiss your battery pack good bye.

while i agree you probably wont need it , BUT it would smooth out the volts , when you stab the collective (fraction of a second)
it would draw the spike from the cap .. maybe alowing for some headroom from the poor old overloaded overcommited stock align internal bec within the esc...
and the way i read it the little 1/12th carpet racer runs ONE servo , and they seem to benefit from it ...
we casually run four+gyro on a stock align esc designed for three servos on 3s ... read the esc manual that comes with your new se v2 ... or the old esc ...
i am going to fit a smoothing capacitor to my ar7000 , even if i dont see the immediate benefit , for a dollar ...a single dollar , what do you have to lose ??
i wouldnt pay 20$ for it either , but it a new product sold by spectrum... that the listed website uses for small cars
lol's if they needed them why didnt spectrum release the reciever with one ...?? na , wasnt needed .... ahhh , but now they sell it ... and we look at it... i didnt say we needed to buy it , just consider its existance ...
thinking about it , i will probably run a seperate UBEC which i might add uses a smoothing capacitor ....with my v2SE as the esc is only (according to the paperwork) rated @ three servos.
but i still ponder the question ....

Huh a cap in parallel with the battery, I don't see how this is gonna help you. If the batteries go low or a sudden surge through a high-loaded servo pulls down the battery, a capacitor will be drained in milliseconds unless it is really a large cap?
