Hey Everyone, I just got the Esky King V2 today from helidirect.com. Rarebare helped me get one of the only two he had right now. Super fast shipping too. Ordered on Fri and got it on MON.

Ok, here it goes. I opened up the package and it looked awesome. Everything looked neatly packed. But for some reason, mine came in a Esky King V1 box. I checked everything and it was all fine. I first checked to see the belt and the tail boom and it looked fine. Not too small. Then I ballenced all the blades and the paddles. All of them were in really good balence. Then I put together the skids and the tail support. They were very stiff. Also, I really liked the new frame and the battery has a lot of room and I'm gonna be getting some velco to secure it better. I also got a heatsink for the stock motor with this RTF kit. I don't know if the V1 kit had one or not. I'll be testing with the stock motor and then i'll be installing the Esky BL motor with the Dynam ESC I also ordered. I also ordered a extra Dynam 1250 mah LIPO. The pinion i'll be using is the 11T. I'll also be soldering on some deans connectors for the heli.

There were a few differences between the V1 and the V2. The skids look more robust and more sturdy and are more like the "superskids". Also, it is 1 cm longer I think due to a bit of a longer frame. Next, the frame is brand new and is the Cool frame. It might be a little smaller, i've never seen a Esky Cool before. Last, is that the Heli is Belt drive now and now shaft drive like the V1.

I haven't gotten a chance to fly it yet but everything looks great. I need to get a few more supplies before I can fly but it looks promising. This heli will accually be stock sometime around the end of March so look out for it. I'll probably be flying by this weekend if not next weekend. I'm not sure because it is gonna get warm in IL and then all of a sudden drop in temp again.

Now, the fun part. THE PICTURES!!!

Looks almost Identical to my HB COOL except for the belt. Everything appears to be the same manufacture parts.

Looks good but hows the headspeed with the 3100kv motor? and do you get any tail vibes or wobbles with the new tail design? That also looks like esky's new dual conversion receiver. I had a single I was using to test on a belt cp and the signal was baaadd... how do you find it compares?

I haven't heard much about these yet but I plan do do a conversion build if it's worth it.

I just got mine a couple of days ago. I am so excited. Did your heli come with the antenna stick and plastic blades.

I have been following your threads helitaiwan963. I guess that I will be contented for now with all stock. I will upgrade later when the budget permits. How long does this stock motors last anyway.

This my first CP heli just recently graduated from a CX2.

So this heli is like a bronco for me. I still have to trim and make adjustments.
How I guess trial and error.

I am open for suggestions though.

It seems to like to turn to the right. Very frustrating back to the simulator for more practice.

wait a minute!! it just hit me looking at those pictures, the box and packing material is all honey bee king 1. The manufacturers too cheap to design another box?!?

I just stripped my auto gear for the tail on my cool, time to convert to king 2. Anyone else trying this? know the parts needed?

That's terrible, I bet it will fly like crap without a new box.

he had a pre-release king 2, the ones you buy now will come in a king v2 box.

I fly my King2 at the park. And sometimes it is windy. I was thinking of getting a wind meter... or what it is called?

I saw one at the lhs. Is it good (helpful) to own one? My other question is what is the window where in it is feasible to fly the heli during windy days. What strength of the wind I mean.

I guess they measure it by knots per minute. Sorry still breaking into the hobby and still do not know all the terminology.

Did the 3100 KV brushless motor fit without modding the frame? Did it come with 11T pinion?

The Esky 3100 and 3900 drop in with no modification to the frame. I fly with the 3800 which does require some minor frame shaving to install. The 3900 with a 9T/10T pinion (pinions not included with the motors) seems to be a nice combo for this heli. The 3800 offers more torque but will give slightly shorter run times than the 3100/3900. 3100 w/10T/11T OK for learning and sport flying, 3800/3900 for aerobatic excursions. That's my personal take on the situation anyway. :)

I just got a 3100KV Esky brushless and a 25A ESC. the battery connector from the ESC is different and can't mate with the red connector on the stock battery. Is there some kind of adapter out there?

Make an adapter or change the connectors. I prefer Deans ultra, some like Power Poles but whatever you decide on, avoid JSTs. A brushless set-up needs more juice than the JSTs can handle safely. You will have to adapt your charger accordingly too.
