First official hovering/playing flight :cheers and it was tres cool! Very impressed and happy. Took long enough. Was out hovering and trying to set my tail up & tac my main blades to 1450 rpm (IntrepidEB) but the opt sensor wouldn't pick up the v-blades. Maybe due to dark colour? Anyone else have that problem?

I could pick up the fly-bar with the opt sensor but it was a little tricky and not consistent. Reflective tape the answer ? or maybe check out a new Tac.? The other one is a friends anyhow.

Wind was pretty gusty and fairly strong(for a newbie) so I didn't get to make final adjustments on the tail. Pretty steady in Non HH with everything centered though.

Hopefully now that our newborn son is 6 months old & settling down and the nice weather is coming, I may be able to sweet talk my wife :kiss and start logging some airtime! Maybe I'll catch up to Gary Travis for a few lessons some time soon.

Awsome stuff. Enjoying the Bergen experience. From cust serv, through the build, all the Bergen regulars on the forums to the first flight. Thanks all. Glad I chose this route.

That's great Rob. Congrats on the hover.

Can't comment on the V blades as I've never tached them. I always just tell my MultiGov what headspeed I want and that's it.

Are there many guys in Calgary flying Bergens? I hope to have mine built up for next weekend. Providng it arrives early next week.

It's been pretty gusty here too on the other side of the hills. It was nice and calm here this morning and got about five tanks through the Tiger.

Cheers, Shayne

Thanks Shayne,

I'm not aware of any Bergens in Calgary but I've heard there is one here somewhere. Observer I believe. Edmonton has atleast one and I believe Ft. McMurray has someone doing A/P work with an Intrepid EB. Not too many unfortunately. Then again, I find Heli's in general are less popular here. Silly people. :D

Good luck with the remainder of your build and test flights. Maybe see you at a fly in some time...

Rob.

Edmonton is correct, a Bergen Observer EB as well as a Bergen Observer Turbine Owned by SkyReel.
