Atom 500 questions

I am thinking about getting an atom 500 fbl.

What servos do you all recommend?

Is the "Platinum 60 Amp Esc" in the kit any good?

I am thinking of putting an SK-720 on it. What other fbl controllers does everybody like for this heli?

You can go for MKS 9660's or Futaba 9650's, Hyperion's, Hitec 5245's, Align 510's and there are probably a lot of more choices, but these are the most common i think.

The speedo does its job very well, so need to change this one out !

As for FBL unit's : BeastX and Mikado V-bar are the mostly used ones.

Just go for it, you wont be dissappointed !

For about 1 week stretched, with a DS650 servo on the tail.

JR 3517's are good for cyclic. I would recommend using a full size tail servo both for both performance and balance.
I've got the beastx and love it. It's probably the easiest to set up and performs really well. And the hobbywing ESC is a good speedo. They're reliable and perform well.

All servos mentioned above seem good, however note that for the cyclics, none of the Hyperions nor the Hitec 5245 are a good fit. They will be smaller and you will need to do some extra fitting on them.

I personally went for Align DS510M (metal geared) because they are not too expensive, available at many places and spare gears are cheap. Avoid going for the plastic geared DS510 because they are known to strip in a flybarless setup.

I use the MKS 9670A+, crankin fast servo for a mini.
(6.0V): 0.068secStall Torque (6.0V): 39.3 oz-in

Definitely use a full size on tail. IE: BLS980/990, BLS251, 8900G, etc

If you can put a vstabi 5.1pro on it. i'm using the full size with the vstabi GOV on stock ESC with hyperion sensor and it works REALLY well. The down side is that the heli has not too much room for put well all the electronics. Mini-vstabi will be better but it doesn't have gov function yet.

Also BeastX works well and if you go with it buy a YGE 60A ESC (stock on Protos) that has a great internal gov.

But i don't know SK720.
