One thing I failed to mention, and didnt see posted anywhere (here and other forums) is the battery issue with the BL tail mod. The stock CPP battery will not hold up with this set up. That is to say it'll get hot and flight times will be around 4-5 minutes. Personaly I'm running 1350mah 20c batteries and get low heat (115F max so far) and 10-15 minutes flight depending on what type of flying I'm doing. Now, being the noob that I am its entirely possible that I did something wrong but I ran the stock battery through a MX 8120 DC watt meter and was pulling more than it can handle.

Just thought I should mention this.

Woah, good find!

I was talking to a guy at my LHS and he saw my DD tail setup (the GWS brushed setup) and was curious if I was having similar problems. (I'm not) he had heard a number of people in his group that had cut the tail rotor down by an inch or so.
