Hi all,
I'm a new helicopter pilot. So far I've only spent time on a honeybee FP II. I've got a nitro heli that I'm trying to get in the air and I could use a hand setting it up correctly. Or at the very least someone to let me know I'm on the right track.
I've had a JR Ergo 30 in the closet for a couple of years now and, after spending some time with the honeybee, figured it was high time to give it a go. I got the heli used in a package deal along with my current TX, a JR 652.
In general how does the 652 stack up to today's radios? It's always done the job well for me, but if I can get X% better performance out of something comparable but newer I might have to give the idea a closer look.
I've got a gy401 gyro installed. I've attached it to the rudder input on the reciever and the single wire lead is in the GER(Aux) switch. When programming the radio is the gain setting for the gyro a % of travel for the GER on one side of the switch(+)?
Is it normal to set the hold switch to idle or cut off? Right now I've got it set for cut off and use the actual throttle to control the idle.
Another question on the gyro setup. Assuming my % of travel question above is correct, can someone give me an number to start with? the 652 give a (-)-100-0 and 0-(+)100 range depending on switch position.
I've probably got more questions, but this will do for starters.
Thanks,
Keith[/list]
