View Full Version : Is it just me or are your Cp's all over the place as well?

I have to admit this just is not a steady bird. at least compared to my Trex's , is it just mine? or do you guys fine that they are not as steady as a Trex either?
also what the heck do you guys do with your frame struts that go to the landing gear? they are always coming out. do you glue them in?
Thanks
Joe

The fuel tubbing holds mine in, there should be tubbing underneath and above the plastic piece that holds the struts.
I dont have a Trex so I dont know how they handle. I've heard there a lot more twitchy than other larger heli's.

Even though i have not flown my 450 much i can tell you there is a night and day difference from a CP to a Trex. the trex lifts of and is practically rock stable as where my CP wants to go all over the place. i can only see my 600 being even more stable then my 450.
but i am going to have to do something with this CP frame, IMO it sucks! maybe ill do that frame upgrade i see some people doing.

I own all 3. The cp is shaky, everyone i know that has one says so.
The 450 is like night and day compared to the cp.
The 600 is amazing. Don't worry about wind. Its a rock in my opinion.
Only been at this for about 6 months.

yeah the struts hold on with the tubing and a little tension from the rest of the assembly. I have done some modifications to my CPP and it seems really stable now. It was really twitchy in the begenning...but that could have been just my lame piloting skill. I don't own a TRex but I have read countless threads that talk about how much better is handles than a Blade CP. Even on the simulators there is a markable differance. Keep playing around with your CPP it will eventually feel fine.

If you can swing a good Tx and get it talking to the CP, it'll make it a lot easier to fly because you'll be able to tweak the setup. My CP,when controlled by my Futaba 9C flies pretty good. Not as stable as my 450, but stable enough that I can land it on a piano bench in my living room..
moto - I take it you haven't flown the 600 yet... You're gonna love it. SOOOOO stable... I upgraded to the CNC frame from FlightTech USA about a year ago. You'll need to make a mount for the 4/3-in-1 but it works well and the skids are plenty tough. I think it was about $60.

Joe, No it's not just you. My CP Pro is all over the place too and the "crashed replacement" parts are killing me... I am ordering a Trex 450 or the HDX450 ASAP! And I did upgrade my landing gear to the Superskids and that has help allot. But I'm tired of replacing all of the rest of the parts. I bought this one to see if I would like helos and I love them. Now I am going to get a quality 450.
Good luck, Ben

450 crashes are cheaper than CP crashes and the 450 flies way better than the CP...

Yep, and since most parts come in a set, so you'll have a bunch of spares after your first crash. I just put in my SE and had it back up the same day I bought the parts from my LHS.

Go HDX/3DX. Cheaper, all CNC, quality as good as / better than TRex (except SE2), easier to work on frame..save your $$ for a cool custom painted canopy and top notch electronics. 3DX and HDX identical except frame design..3DX easier to work on, its what I have. Very strong. Steel landing gear..not cheap plastic. Will take repeated drops onto hard surface from 20 feet up (AMHIK). CNC head is a work of art, preassembled. Very strong.

Nope i have not my 600 is sitting on my work bench waiting for the radio to arrive, that i cannot wait for!! i love everything about the 600 and i have not even flown it yet! just working on it is so much better then working on my 450!
but being i am waiting for the DX7 to get here is giving me time to upgrade alot of the stuff on my 600.

450 PARTS are a tad cheaper, but i doubt 450 CRASHES are cheaper. due to the higher headspeed and weight, i think you'll break more parts than crashing a blade cp.
well, i'd first suggest getting a better tx for the blade, you'll be amazed how much better you can tweak it. (and you'll eventually need that tx for a bigger bird anyways). not to brag, but i can land mine on a 1ft x 1ft little stool. and i still do 3D with it. so i don't have weights on and yada yada. learning on the blade is fun IMO. i can hover inverted now, all this by myself without a sim. i know i will eventually get a trex, (waiting for part supply for the 450SEV2) and i know i'll love it alot, but... since i only have a blade now, this is all i can say.
