This is just an observation, as my test base is too small for scientific confirmation.
I upgraded my TP 1010 to software release 2.0c: I then charged a 3 cell pack. It maxed out at 12.58 v instead of the usual 12.6v. I then upgraded to software release 2.0d. I was now able to charge the next pack to the expected 12.6 volts, but unexpectedly I was able to top off the 12.58v pack without the usual error message.

Sorry Typo.

I think that the default charge setting changed from full to 95% on the 2.0c but not sure. Make sure and check that. One of the 2.0x versions did switch my 1010's from full charge to 95% and I had to change it back in the charger settings.
I must change these parameters for flasher the firmware of my TP1010 :?:
thanks
Hello
nobody know why I have this error message ?? :( :(
Thanks

Did you install the USB drivers for the programming cable before running the updater?
yep William
I tested remove drivers and to reinstall them, that does not change anything :dontknow
strange........

Do you have any firewall software on your machine that might interfere? It worked the first time on my old Laptop, but not on my mac laptop I have now.
Hello William
thanks for your assistance
I suppose that there was a problem on my computer, I made the last update available (2.2A) with another cpu
now I have another question...
with new firmware an option is added:
Input power LVC 10.0V-12.0V (default is 11.25V)
my power supply made 13.8V I must regulate with how much... ?
my last question (promised) coling fan is better "always on" or "auto" ?
Thank you and good evening !

I am not sure that the updated firmware is very good. Mine updated ok but I charged Nicd's for my electric starter and it showed full charge but when Itried to use it, the batteries were still dead. I put it on my triton, charged it and it was good after that. I don't like the fact you can't select the number of cells. Mine only shows "auto voltage". I think I might be rolling mine back to the old firmware.
you think that the best firmware is the 2.00 ?
Hi all
v2.3A is available I will test it :!:

Notice that there is an IMPORTANT NOTICE on the TP site. You MUST power the charger from a 9V battery or insert a 10 ohm 5 watt resistor inline when updating, or they will not honor the warranty.

I just upgrade my TP1010C to 2.3A. :smokin: There is an important notice on Thunderpower's website just as Pinecone posted. I used a fresh Energizer 9V battery to upgrade instead of the 10-15 ohm resistor. The first time I flashed the upgrade, I got a communication error at 50%. I immediately hit the upgrade button again and upgraded to 100%. :D So far I have charge my 9.6V Nicd transmitter battery and my 9.6V NiMh transmitter battery with no problems. Most chargers if you charge your NiCds or NiMh above 1 amp, at the end of the charge, the charger will go into trickle charge mode. This charger does not do this. But to get all these new options for free (minus upgrade cable of course), I can't really complain. I will now try my usual Lipos, but I don't anticipate any issues. :glasses2: I could not find the Li ion charge option either. :dontknow
Thanks,
Ken
