Sorry if i missed it but what is the rtf weight of your bird.? If possible would you be able to weigh it also without your head and swash? This would be great info for those who would run stock head and swash.

No you won't damage anything, but you may get better more linear throttle response with the pull down resistor. Maybe Tnt can weigh in and tell us if he noticed a difference with or without the pull down resistor.

Curious what motor I should use and what everyone's opinion would be. I have my thesteve converter on the way should be here this week and I have 3 motor options as I have some extra one's laying around from my wakera's.

So, my choices are the WK-003 which is the same as the helimax motor TNT is using. Next up is the Red Turbo Ace model 91416 and then the HP07 or HP06v2 whichever you prefer to call it.

Just wondering which one you guys would use if you had those 3 choices.

well the one I am using is 11,000 kv which you already no this. I would use the one that you half to do the less mode to the frame . Also you can use the one that benefits you. You do know i am using a 9tooth pinion which works perfect.

Then started thinking a bit more and that motor weighs around 11g where as the HP07 is right around 7g so there is a significant weight savings. I have got a couple of those 9t pinions from BP(thanks for the link) so that is what I will use. I am also wondering if saving the weight will really even matter with the added power of the brushless set up.

My weighs in at 56 grams with the stock battery and without 50 grams (hard 3d ime 3:10 stock battery and sports flying time 4:50). factory stock weighs in at 46 grams with battery and without 40 grams.

Great idea man a new frame is only 8 bucks that is what I will do so I can try them both. Will let you know the results when I am finished the conversion.

The pics with the yellow wire shows how I done it and it works well. I solder the yellow wire to the old main motor plug on positive side and plug it into the plug on the board.

I held tnt's mcpx today and the cg is only slightly off, with the esc in the front to help add a little weight. But I promise you, if you saw it fly you would see that the cg imbalance made no difference in flight. The tail was absolutely glued in place. I can't wait to do this mod.

Ok... I did the sr120 tail mod and what a difference, holy cow. I tried to make it blow out but it didn't come close.
After I do the bl mod on the main motor I may cut the tabs on the sides of the batteries so they can be moved farther forward to help with the cg. It also looks like you could trim the batt holder on the landing skids and get 2 or 3 more mm.

for that resistor can you solder it right on the steve converter so its compacted or do you need it going from the plug to the end of the blue wire

If you go with the 120SR tail motor, blades and boom extension mod you need to know this. When buying the 120SR tail boom assembly I noticed a small round oblong part that was in a small bag with the assembly. I asked the LHS guy what it was and he told me it goes on the end of the motor before you press on the tail rotor. It turns out that it is a cup that holds a 1x3x1mm bearing for the output shaft. It mounts on the front of the motor and provides a load bearing for the output shaft of the motor. I think it is to provide a thrust bearing for the tail rotor and help unload the main motor bearing on the output side. I noticed that this part is available seperately:

When I mounted the tail rotor I used a small square driver bit to hold the back of the motor through the hole in the motor holder so I could seat the rotor as far a possible on the shaft.

How are you measuring it? If I measure from front of the frame where the 2mm shaft is by the elevator servo to the end of the tail motor holder I get ~ 6". But if I measure the exposed tail boom length I get 4 5/8".
