Wadded up my 450 SE this past Saturday. Nothing too major, the usual replaced parts and a quick run through the mechanics to make sure everything was still set up properly.

Prior to the crash, the pitch settings ran as follows:

Norm
-2/+10

IDL1
-10/+10

Now, it seems my NORM and IDL1 setting have switched places. In normal mode, I now get -10/+10 and in IDL1 I get -2/+10. I'd copied my model to my CamPac about a week before my crash so I overwrote the radio memory with the saved model info. Same deal.. At this point, I'm just going to nuke the model and reprogram from scratch, but I'm wondering WTF is going on....

Also, is there a pitch curve to set for throttle hold? When I flick the hold switch, the blade pitch changes (I didn't measure it 'cuz I knew I was going to start from scratch) pretty dramatically.

Yes, going into throttle hold has an associated pitch curve. I am at work and can't remember but pretty sure it is evident in the throttle hold page.

I don't recall seeing one, but I'll have a look when I run home for lunch. I'm still befuddled by the "reversing" of my norm and idl1 curves...

Have you disabled the sliders on the side of the radio?

High low pitch is probably whats causing your agrivation. Set it to Man and the VR to NULL

The HOLD mode has a pitch curve just like any other flight mode, goto the pitch curve menu in the advanced menu where you adjust the idle up pitch curves, and scroll from NORM to IDLE1, IDLE2, IDLE3 then you will see HOLD as the next choice.

Thanks BH! I could not remember the menu options.

All the pitch sliders/knobs were disabled... I did find the hold pitch curve and set it to be the same as IDL1 since I fly in IDL1 nothing will change with the hold...

Dunno WTF was up with the radio, but I've got it all sorted out again and did a quick test hop under the street lights out front. Good as new - or so it seems with 30 seconds of hovering...

Was tweaking some stuff tonight and ran across this thread again. I don't see a Hi/Low Pitch setting in the radio or any reference to it in the manual... (Then again, I've been drinking margaritas all evening so......)

Reading this thread has helped understand why after months of flying I all of a sudden didn't have enough pitch on both my heli's. I thought it was really weird. I had to reset the pitch on both my heli's. I just looked at my 9C Radio and if fact the high low pitch was causing the problem. Wow, thanks...BarracudaHockey. I disabled the High-low pitch and will go and double check my pitch values.
