I'm trying to set up my Blade CP with a brushless motor, but I'm wondering if I need to cut wires from the Splitter going into the Receiver from the 3 in 1 and the brushless ESC. I don't want to burn anything up, and I wasn't sure what kind of power will be going to the various servos and gyro if the power wire is pulled from one of the ESCs. I would think I would want to take one away from the 3 in 1, so I can take advantage of the voltage cutoff on the Brushless ESC. Is this correct?

Thanks.

Also, I've got a HH gyro on the Blade too... If I wanted to eliminate the 3 in 1 all together and throw in a brushed speed controller, what would I want to look for? I'm running a 1350 3 cell with 15C (not 100% sure of the C rating), so I'm thinking I'll be able to throw 20 amps. I don't want to burn the tail motor, and don't want to fry a speed controller. My tail motor is stock right now, and won't be changed until it gives me some trouble.

I'm going to use a Pheonix 25 on the E-Flite motor (4100kv), and put the E-flite 20A on a foamy plane.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks again.

Okay, I got my hands on a Blade CP Pro manual, and found the info reguarding the power wire going into the receiver, so that situation is handled. They don't list this info in the normal CP manual (or at least they didn't). For those that don't know, you do cut one of the positive leads heading into the receiver, to avoid throwing too much voltage.

Also, my battery show 13C with a 20C burst.

Since I got the thing flying, I probably won't upgrade the tail's ESC for a while, but I'm still curious about what I should look for if I do need to swap it.

It's so cool to see Govenor mode on a Blade CP!

So did you get rid of the 3-1?

Nope... I'm using it for the BEC and for the tail motor's ESC. I'm still not sure what ESC I should be looking for to use on the tail motor.
