Could someone explain to me what the use of the midrange is(meaning how/when do you notice the midrange's performance in flight?)? is this important for hoovering, or also as a transition to the full power range for tictocs etc?

How do you tune the midrange, through which manoevers? or do you just tune it so that while hoovering and mild flying the engine runs smooth?

and what is your trick for tuning the low needle? is it also so that the engine runs smooth at idle and smooth transition to middle range, or through the pinch technique like Curtis?

thanks a lot

All of this depends on which carb and motor you have.
On some motors the low end affects the whole range and not just the transistion.
The mid range will usually also affect the high end. If your flying aerobatics and doing continous loops for an example. Then when you pull the throttle back into the mid range and unload the disk and the engine cackles. It is too lean in the mid range. But when you hover, it might be nice and smooth. I just run the mid range as rich as possible with the engine four stroking in a hover.
