Finally got some good weather and some flying in. The winter months of no real, just sim time, flying really shows. My winter modified 300 project had a fight with a small tree. Whacked a few of its' branches tips off and made a hell of a racket till I could fly it out but the heli did win with only a small tear to the blade covering. Still can't believe I flew into that tree and actually managed to chop my way back out with the tail rotor intact, Whew! I could tell I was really rusty but decided to take up the 450 for a spin anyway. That went pretty good but at this point I had lost confidence and I didn't really feel in complete control so just basically did some putting around. Sure isn't like riding a bicycle! If you've been off flying for a spell, take those first flights easy and re-establish the groove. Darn near bought me a bunch of new parts this AM from overconfidence.

Congrats!! I took mine out yesterday (finaly low enough wind) for a couple packs. Since I'm a noob , started in Jan. I really dont have any real outdoor experience other than the few snowflights I did. Luckily there wasnt any trees nearby :D

It was a Kodak moment, Buzzkill. Wasn't funny at the time but it would have made a good video thrashing around in that tree! No more trees for me, next time it's off to the HS soccer field to fly these things. :D

LOL. I made it out tonight. I have to say this was the best flight experience I've ever had. It feels like the first day I bought a heli again. I impressed myself lol.

Sounds like ya got your heli dialed in pretty good, Buzzkill. It's cool when you finally start to get the upper hand on the little beast, isn't it? Way to go! :glasses2:
