Hi, though I would post a link to an airplane I have been working on for a while now. Many have seen me flying it and now we are finally building them.
Hope you enjoy the video. The Big Kahuna Video (http://www.ericlarsonrc.com/Videos/The_Big_Kahuna_large.zip)
Kits are precut, and include carbon, hardware, and instructions. You need radio gear, motor, glue, and tape.
This foamy is designed for outdoor flying and it is large. It flies for about 12 to 15 min on a 1300-1500 mah battery. It is not the average foamy, it does not tip stall, it is very stable, yet it will do all of the radical moves. The 2 other planes on the video are being flown for the 1st time. It is very easy to do all of the really hot moves.

Sweet. I'm convinced.
Hands is right. I would like at least one and I'm glad to see you followed through with making them available. Excellent!!!
Wonder how it would fly with an AXI 2212/26??

Sorry :)
I will have airplanes and kits at Mac's Saturday. What sucks is that I got screwed on my work schedual and I will only be there during the day on Sat.
Kit price is $39 and includes a basic hardware pack. These kits are pre-production and we are still tweaking small things. These are not prototypes, but they will be cnc cut and have some features that make them very easy to assemble and even nicer looking. At that point we will have graphics kits and the price will go up some.
We have used the following.
* Himax 2015-4100, Hacker B20-22S, or something equivilant
* 10 amp brushless speed control, you can use larger
* at a 5.5 gear ratio we have using a 11x4.7 prop, and 6.0 - 6.5 a 12x6 prop
*4 micro servo's (HS55 or similar)
* 6 channel micro reciever (hitech electron or berg or gws)
* 800 - 1500 mah batteries. I am using Thunderpower 1320's but we have used etech 1200's, and some polyquest down to 880 mah.
The equiptment is pretty flexable. Airplane dry weight is around 5.5oz
The responce I am getting so far is that people are very happy with the model. It is very different than the ones that are out on the market now.
I have really found these things are great for stick practice! And if you crash, just get out the hot glue and it is fixed right up :)
Thanks guy's,
Eric

Sounds like it would be nice with one of Will's modded CD-ROM Motors!! :)

Will i meant the exact gear ratio and prop size. Vid says 5.5 -6 :1 and 1147 or 1260 prop.
Awesome Eric, looks great!!!

The main airplane in there is mine and has a Mini AC2015 motor. The other 2 have Himax 2015-4100's. I also have one powered by a Hacker B20-22s. They are all good motors and are very close in power. The Hacker is top power, then the himax, then the mini ac.
I am running 5.5:1 ratio with a 66 tooth spur and 12 pinion. I am also running 11x4.7 gws props. That was the setup of the main airplane in the video.
Paul, (one of the other airplanes) was running a himax at 6.0:1 with a 12x6. It also worked very well. I would however recommend closer to 6.5:1 with the 12x6 to increase flight time.
With those setups and a 1300 mah battery, you should get 12 min of pretty hard flying.
The airplane is large, very strong, and can handle more power, but it is not necessary. Put the cheap himax on it and spend more $ on more batteries :) I with I had unlimited batteries!

Well I got a lot of emails so far, Thanks!
Right now we are still in a pre-production stage. The kits are not prototypes but they will become even nicer and will include some nice assembly features that will make it a synch to assemble.
They will fly the same, but the production kits will just be nicer. We are also going to have graphics kits to eliminate the need for painting. The bad news is that the price will go up some :) I have a limited supply of kits now, but will have a lot more soon.
