Sorry Tony :) but I have become a severe Mikado Logo addict! After over 350 flights and over 40 hours of flight time and only one minor occurrence resulting in a forced auto (with only $6 in damage btw :) ) I have decided that I shall become a Mikado loyalist until such time that something WAY better comes along.... which could be a while.

I love the smoothness of Logos. Nothing I have flown flies smoother... including the Joker I had.

I have a strong feeling that this Logo 24 with a front mount will be a dynamite setup for shooting HD video.

Hey DJ,

I think you should build at least 2 of those mounts. You never know, someone might be interested in a Bionic front mount  .

Menno

ps, which motor and ESC are you running on the Bionic?

Actually, I think either a Z50A-600 or maybe one of the new Z70As. These things are running pretty cool. A Phx 85 is more than enough for a Logo 24-based camera ship, as it is about as light as it gets for something with blades in the 680-700 range.

Thats what I'm running in my stretched Mini-Joker with 710's

I love the Mikado helis, they are very smooth and well designed.

what? Z50A or Z70A?

I have an Actro 24-5 laying around that may work.

well... as soon as I build the mount and test/refine it, I may be persuaded to build up another.

The Z70As will be about the same size and weight as the Actro 32 series. I think a Z50A-600 would be a very good fit, assuming you will run a 10s setup of some sort (i.e. -- 10s-3700 or 10s-5000...). The 24-5 has too low a kV, I think. It worked in the stock Raptor configuration, due to the limited gearing, but the Logo 24 has a 140T main gear.

Anyway, we've been beating a Z50A-600 to death in a 620SE on 12s and it runs about the same temp as a rock laying out in the sun. Under 120F for sure, probably closer to 100F. Ambients were in the low 80s. I've run a 24-4 on 12s before and it ran a ton hooter than this, for sure. On 10s, a -600 will hardly break a sweat, even with 710s.

working on the front mount now. It's a little bit trickier than the Logo 10 mount but doable. I'll post up some pics when I have something worth showing.

Hi DJ,

How is the Bionic project working out?

Is the position of the front right servo giving any trouble. I would love to see some pictures of your bird when the mount is on it.

Thanks,
Menno
