Rave ENV Motor Spacing
Hi I am thinking about a Kontronic 700-45 Motor. It looks like it is 4 mm bolt holes at 30mm spacing. Will this work for the Rave ENV 90 ? Thanks Ken

It looks like the the motor mount on the new kits are 30mm spacing and 4mm bolts. The Scorpion 4035-560 my LHS sold me is 25mm x 3mm. The Kontronic looks like the correct spacing and bolt size, 30mm x 4mm.

They offer a 25mm and a 30mm spacing motor mount set. And both are set up to use a 4m bolt. I used brass tubing to "Bush" mine down to accept 3m bolts. I've run both Xera 4030 and 4035 motors that fit fine with a few mm on either side clearance.

I guess I would have to buy the mount for the 25mm Scorpion Motor if I am going to use this motor. I was given the advise to buy this with the kit. I did not know I would have to buy another mount and brass tubing to make it fit. I think I am going to but the Kontronic 700-45 with the 30mm x 4mmm setup. What is this in the manual about the motor shaft measuring 33mm or longer from the top of the motor case ? Then it says to cut the shaft to 21mm long like it shows in the picture ? Ken

As far as using the Scorpion, you could tap the mounting holes out to 4M. I just didn't feel like doing it and i had the brass tubing from a KDE pinion support.
On motor shaft length, that is so the shaft will reach to the bearing on the pinion support. If the motor shaft isn't long enough you need to trim the length of the shaft and use the stub shaft included with the motor mount. chuck |

So it would be better to buy the Kontronic 700-45 with the long shaft instead of the short shaft. Thanks Ken

The other option I am looking at in the Kontronics 700-52 long shaft. I bought the Scorpion 4035-560 but I would have to order the 25mm motor mount.
